Language students will complete one semester of Literacy. Students who do not study a Language (i.e. Indonesian or Japanese) will complete two semesters of Literacy, paired with either Health & Physical Education (HPE), Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) or Science.

 Literacy is aimed to support the students with their general literacy modes of speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as the specialised subject based literacy including application of technical vocabulary, genre writing, and functional grammar.

Literacy is assessed on growth from the ACARA Literacy Continuum.

Assessment:

Grade wordings of Minimum to Excellent will be used for reporting purposes. Assessment is measured on growth from pre and post tests in spelling, writing and reading fluency.
