Integrated learning- SACE credits 10 for one semester or 20 credit full year (prerequisite for stage 2)

A not such a huge academic subject – Language Continuers is like Spec math with 2 uni bonus points

Yr 10 combined languages trip- this could be our focus for assessment tasks

Culture focus with language- students to find their passion for other cultures.

Capture the students through the study of the culture and people and add the language

 T and M share the line- language focus, flexibility to target work with certain students/ cohorts, block our time- choose our lessons

Integrated learning assessment:

Practical exploration (possible assessment tasks):

Organise a trip to Japan or Indonesia (including cultural experiences and language)

Organise and facilitate the “Exploring Languages and Culture Day” with the primary schools

Language focused tasks:

Oral- language for travel-directions, shopping etc

Analysis- of film or simple texts

Text production- brochure, online tourist guise site.

Create a multi modal presentation about Port Lincoln for the sister schools. including Zoom calls with sister schools

Connections (possible assessment tasks):

Acting as tour guide for our sister schools

Cultural awareness video including Zoom calls with sister schools

Personal Venture (possible assessment tasks):

Investigate a cultural or language area of interest- anime, art, food, media, environmental issue
